The Philip Street Communities Precinct is a master planned community by Gladstone Regional Council that on completion will provide a social service system by clustering of facilities in a social precinct and recreation amenities to enhance community solutions. This precinct is being constructed on Lot 7, Philip Street, and includes all external works including roads, drives, paths and integration onto a designated main road.
Corfield’s Electrical commenced work on this project in late 2019, under principal contractor Blomfield Excavations to supply and install electrical reticulation and street lighting to Stage 1A. The works included the supply and installation of 22kV cable underground, via a conduit and pit system. The new reticulation included the installation of one new 500kVA Kiosk Transformer / RMU Units which included the civil works for the concrete slabs, trenching and pit excavation.
Corfield’s Electrical completed the street lighting for this precinct, utilising the dual carriage way on the entry, connecting to power poles running up both sides to allow sufficient lighting along both lanes. These works were completed to Ergon specifications and signed off upon completion.
The project was completed within the time and operational constraints set down by the lead contractor, and also demonstrated our commitment to safety, with the project recording no “Lost Time Injuries”, to the praise of the developer.
